Poppintree Park

At the Northwest Area Committee today, It was agreed that the opening of Poppintree Park be deferred until July 2010 because of late planting due to poor weather, and primarily because residents have been given an undertaking by the council that the park would be opened only when the CCTV was operational.  Today, we were told that this will only happen in late June or July even though the installation of cameras in the Ballymun area began on 18th January last. Opening earlier without CCTV would increase the chances of serious vandalism to the new playground even if there is an increase in attendance by park rangers. I am sorry that this delay is happening but I think the decision today is correct.
