The European Commission’s attempt to harmonise corporation tax rates is back on the agenda. Ireland has a 12.5% corporation tax rate which gives us a competitive advantage and annoys many continental countries. Ireland’s economic woes have punctured our influence in Europe and this has made the tax harmonisation issue a real threat to our economic future. Be warned.
