It is 25 years in existence and Niall Crowley of the Equality Authority was the keynote speaker with Minister Pat Carey. Mary Ryan was MC and Dr Mary Murphy of NUI Maynooth (former Dublin City Councillor Lab, chairman of the Board, gave the introductory speech. Brian Byrne from the City Council was present to hear of his key contribution to the development of the when moving from the original site in the village up to the west at Cardiffsbridge. The centre presented FETEC level 5 certificates to seven students. What is noticeable over the years is the high morale and positive attitude of those working there. The facility is part funded by the Irish Congress of Trade Unions who were the instigators.
