Enda Kenny Campaign Rolls into Omni Park Santry

The Kenny Cavalcade rolled into Omni Park in Santry on Saturday at 12.15 pm. He and his entourage were met by a coterie of notables including the helicopter candidate from Clontarf and many old faces from across town who had used their satnavs successfully including Giles Bailey of Dun Laoghaire and former FG candidate Tom Farrell. It was good to see the inestimable Rita Clancy with her husband Chris, a former head teacher in Ballymun, Jimmy Hanratty, Jim Kirby and wife and a host of others out early.

On tour in the centre, Enda met a host of people and was subjected to detailed questioning by campaigners for the new children’s hospital, a lady from Rush whose business is struggling, a guy on the “sick” looking for a job, a Phillipino autograph hunter, Tom (SIPTU) and Mary Dunne from Albert College, Laois and Mayo and a many others delighted to see him and asking him to save the country. There were a few sour people who refused to even exchange pleasantries – but that’s politics. Enda was offered free tea and sandwiches from the manager of the centre who was most courteous.

IF ENDA DEALS WITH GILMORE AND MARTIN IN THE SAME MANNER AS THE SEARCHING QUESTIONS FROM THESE RANDOM PEOPLE, THE NATION WILL BE SATISFIED. Of that I have no doubt.

Brendan Brady, engineer, city councillor and barrister welcomed Enda and brought his three children. Enda interviewed Aoibhie-T about UCD Psychology and met Mary O’Halloran, Mary Early, Billy McDonald and others who had earlier arrived by Sky-Dive to chime in with the occasion. As you all know, statues still move in Ballinspittle!

The print and electronic media were recording all this for posterity. Enda has a huge responsibility in front of him. I have no doubt that he is up to the task.
