Louth Hospital Stroke Unit

The HSE has confirmed that a €297,000 refurbishment project on the Stroke/Rehab Unit at Louth County Hospital will commence next week.

The Stroke/Rehab Unit is being refurbished to facilitate the provision of the following services;
Dedicated Physio & O/T rehab area
Dedicated Speech & Language treatment room
Communal Dining Facilities
Multi-disciplinary Meeting Facility
Independent living Area – Including a kitchen area and en-suite bathroom to enable patients who are at the pre discharge stage of their care pathway to experience living in an environment similar to home.

The Stroke/Rehab Unit which is located on the 1st floor will be relocated on the ground floor while these extensive refurbishment works take place.

In order to accommodate the Stroke/Rehab Unit on the ground floor out of stock beds which were in storage on the ground floor will be recycled and transported to Dublin Port for onward shipment to Libya, on behalf of Libyan emergency aid who are a registered charity.
