Wexford by choice

Wexford is very beautiful on a nice bright day. Collins man Councillor Paddy Kavanagh was working when we came calling. I was driven around by Gerry O’Connell of the Collins 1922 Committee. Paddy’s farm stretches across to Oak trees about 1.25 miles away as the crow flies. He has been CPOd for the Enniscorthy By-pass and will take appropriate action. He showed us the archiological sites being dug at his farm and also the crops he was growing. As my cousin is a farmer, I was very interested in seeing the scale of his operation. It is easy to see how his people are the backbone of this country.

We also visited Denis Kennedy in Clonroche and his wife pointed out Mount Leinster in the distance across an expanse of hazy terrain. Pat Codd welcomed us to his house and farm at Taghmon near Wexford.

Anna Fenlon guided me to Wexford and was very welcoming. What a warm experience all day. The sense of tidyness across the county was obvious.
