John Perry hangs up while questioned about cancer services

Fine Gael Junior Minister John Perry hung up during an interview on Ocean FM when questioned about the return of cancer services to the region on the ‘North West today’ programme earlier today.

It followed his comments that a press conference will be held on the 17th of June to indicate the current situation with the restoration of breast cancer services to Sligo General Hospital.

When pressed on the issue-the Minister refused to outline what would be announced during the conference other than to say that the conference will look at what “can” happen with services at the facility.

Minister Perry promised that Sligo General Hospital would become a satellite facility of the Galway University Hospital within his first 100 days in Government.

The 17th of June will be the Government’s 101st day in power.

With increasing pressure coming on the Minister over the issue, John Perry hung up
