Green Bins left to empty themselves in Clontarf. Brian Boru to return and retake the Bulls

Dear Lord Mayor, Councilors, City Manager and Greyhound Waste,

My name is Joe Bloggs and I live in Clontarf in the North Central area.

I am writing this mail today to let you know how unhappy I am with the
transfer of waste management operations that was passed from the
council to a private company which I feel is not fit for purpose and
is obviously unable to cope with it’s new workload.

I will give you a brief time line of my dealings with Greyhound waste.

13/02/2012 Paid first instalment of collection charges to Greyhound Waste.

23/02/2012 Green bin went uncollected.

08/03/2012 Green bin went uncollected. Phoned Greyhound and was told
to leave bin on curb and it would be collected in next 72 hours and a
bar coded label would be mailed to me. Bin went uncollected. No label
ever arrived.

22/03/2012 Green bin went uncollected. Phoned Greyhound and told to
leave bin on curb and it would be collected in next 72 hours and a bar
coded label would be mailed to me. Bin went uncollected. No label ever
arrived. Emailed Greyhound and received stock reply telling me a bar
coded label would be mailed to me.

26/03/2012 Phoned Greyhound – in queue for customer services for 26
minutes – hung up. Called Panda waste management and was told that
they are not taking of new business in my area.

04/04/2012 Phoned Greyhound – customer services representative told me
he would get a supervisor to call me by end of business and he would
ensure that my bin was collected on collection day 05/04/2012. No
supervisor called.

05/04/2012 Green bin was not collected. Phoned Greyhound – customer
services representative said she would email head office and try to
get the collection lorry to come back and collect my green bin. Asked
to talk to supervisor and was told none was available but one would
call me by end of business.

I have not had a green bin collection in 8 weeks and now have the
excess in my garage.

I would like to know how the contract for waste disposal was lost by
Dublin City council in what appears to be a no bid contract?

What were the competitors of Greyhound offered not to tender for
business in the area and how does this not contravene Article 101
TFEU?

How the running of the city has been lost by elected officials and is
being usurped by those who again have proven themselves inept?

I just my green bin collected – a service I have paid for 10 weeks ago.

Yours Faithfully,
