Making Dublin Digital – Plug in and have your say

What do digital technologies and online services mean to quality of
life in the capital?  The latest Your Dublin, Your Voice online survey
asks respondents to report on how and why they use the internet,
including the barriers, their use of digital technologies in the form
of smartphones, tablet devices and Apps, the importance of social
media in their daily lives and their views on connecting with national
and local government via online and smart services. The survey seeks suggestions as to how technology can improve the quality of life in cities and how we can continue to develop Dublin as one of the smartest and most digitally connected cities in the world.  The results of the survey will feed directly into improving the delivery and accessibility of e-Government services so that they can be delivered in a more cost effective and inclusive manner in the future.

Lord Mayor Naoise Ó Muirí has encouraged Dubliners and visitors alike
to register to the Your Dublin, Your Voice opinion panel for this and
future surveys, stating ‘in Dublin City Council we are constantly
looking for new ways to engage with people and to really draw on their
opinions, experiences and expertise to improve quality of life for
everyone in the city and Your Dublin, Your Voice is a great way to
have your voice heard’.  He hopes that the results of this survey on
Digital Dublin will ‘lay the foundation blocks for Dublin to become a
truly leading city in all things digital for young and old alike’.

The survey is now underway and the 3,400+ panel membership,
representing every county in Ireland and over 60 nationalities, have
been invited to complete it.  Registration for the panel is open to
everyone over the age of 18 and is on-going at
www.yourdublinyourvoice.ie.  All completed entries are in with a
chance of winning a fabulous iPad 3 and a range of great Dublin themed
runner-up prizes.
