Domestic Violence Services and costs

“Can the HSE please clarify the amount of revenue grants and capital
grants paid to Tearmann Domestic Violence Services in Monaghan and the
amount of revenue grants and capital grants paid to KARE of Raheny for
each of the years 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012?”

Cllr. Bill Tormey

Response:
The following are the amounts of Revenue and Capital funding paid to
Tearmann Domestic Violence Services for the years in question:

Year Revenue Funding from HSE              Capital Funding from HSE
2009 €217,983 NIL
2010 €191,825 NIL
2011 €378,000* NIL
2012 €12,984 NIL

* Funding Granted for both 2011 and 2012.
On a once off basis and without prejudice, enhanced funding was
provided to Tearmann Domestic Violence Services, given their financial
difficulties at the time, to place the organisation on a sounder
financial footing and to allow them to maintain and deliver services
at existing levels.

Additional funding of €12,984 in 2012 was the result of a deficit that
would have led to the closure of Tearmann Services in the Cavan Area,
during discussions with Tearmann, the HSE agreed to make up the
shortfall of €12,984.

The following are the amounts of Grants paid to KARE of Raheny for the
years in question:

Year Revenue Funding from HSE                   Capital Funding from HSE
2009 €987,046.00 NIL
2010 €914,004.60 NIL
2011 €892,534.63 NIL
2012 €754,191.76* NIL

* Projected figure to year end.

No capital grants were paid to KARE of Raheny.
