Tolka Area Partnership Business & Enterprise

Last April two local women approached the Tolka Area Partnership
Business & Enterprise team with an idea of starting their own
business, Lynda explained “that the help/advice they were given was
invaluable and they wouldn’t have known where to start with the legal
minefields they faced”

For about three months they worked from their own

homes, researching stock and good quality clothing. They tried their
idea out on family and friends and as it was successful, decided to
approach Tolka Area Partnership with their business idea. There they
met with Enterprise Officer Orla Mattingley, Business Mentor Paul
Keegan and Seamus Cody who guided and gave advice on starting their
own business.

September 1st saw the opening of Finglas Village newest business
venture children’s fashion wear Bella Baby Boutique.

Lynda said “We are doing really well. The Boutique has three full
Facebook pages, with each page having a maximun of 5000 likes, and
takes orders on-line locally and nationally. “We are even getting
orders from as far away as Canada”.

They run a successful Christmas saving club which enables customers
to leave a deposit for clothing and pay as much as they can afford
weekly.  They also have a great relationship with the other shop
owners in the area and have taken on advice from them.  Lynda noted
that the neighbouring businesses help each other out and even
advertise each others business on their respective FaceBook pages.
Lynda stated that they are both very grateful for all the support
which has been given by Tolka Area Partnership, the surrounding
businesses, her landlord and local community.

TAP would like to wish both Lynda & Debbie every success for their future.
