Poolbeg Power Station Chimney Stacks – Joe Duffy – Fingal County – and Taste

Taste in Art and Architecture is in the eye of the beholder. Poolbeg chimney stacks are exactly the type of ugly infrastructure that should get the order of the boot as soon as it is possible to rid the skyline of their intrusiveness.

For Joe Duffy and some members of Fingal County Council to consider the stacks elegant, is legitimate. But my taste in building elegance is poles apart from them.  I prefer the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, The Empire State and Shanghai and Dubai. I would love to see a skyscraper sector in Dublin nestling down at the mouth of the Liffey. That is why, there is no way that I will be trying in any way to preserve the twin stacks of redundant exhausts.
