Seamus O Coighligh – genius remembered in the Irish Times Obituaries

“He was able to read all current European languages as well as a number of
extinct languages such as Manx.As well as understanding Aramaic and Hebrew,
he had a good grasp of CUcrdu and Arabic”.

This is a sentence in the obituary of Seamus O Coigligh (Quigley)1916-2010,
Curator of Cork Public Museum published in the Irish Times.

Such is genius. This man contributed to the Irish Times on Russian affairs
and was highly thought of in the third quarter of the 20th Century.I can
vaguely remember his writings in the press. Every people has outstanding
individuals that should humble the mainstream in the realisation of our
inadequate mediocrity. The Obit is on the IT website.
