You can the energy and good humour of the gathering in the photographs. Nigeria is a very important country for Ireland. My late friend Dr Michael Okpara was deputy prime minister of Biafra and former governor of the Eastern State. He was a great guy and still brings a smile to my face when I remember him. He lived in Tallaght and worked at St James Hospital in the 1970s after the war in Nigeria having won a Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
