Finglas Christmas Lights Ceremony
Finglas Christmas Lights Ceremony
[nggallery id=11]
In Finglas, we turned on the Christmas Tree Lights at Mellowes Road Civic Centre on 13 December in a lull in the bad weather. In giving a brief address, I emphasised the importance of the whole community standing together. We are interdependent and volunteering is a magnificent way to show your commitment to the community. The Halloween Festival brought out a great number of volunteers in the community in Finglas. We should thank the City Council staff for working unpaid overtime to keep events moving in Finglas, Ballymun and Santry. On behalf of all the councillors in the area, I salute the volunteers of 2010 for their support and thank the staff for their brilliant attitude.
The photographs show the Finglas Gospel Choir, and Paula Clarke and Corinna Finnegan. I am also shown listening to Brian Byrne showing me how to turn on the lights. I must have failed my electricians test.
