Faculty national clinical programme for pathology

The HSE’s appointment of a National Clinical Director for Pathology fails to recognise the dysynergy between histopathology/morbid anatomy and blood sciences which includes chemical pathology, haematology and immunology. Therefore a national director that covers that span is inappropriate. Certainly a histopathologist should not be in any lead role for blood sciences. I believe that this issue ought to be revisited.
