Re: Planning Application 3048/12
Finglas Childcare Ltd
Garda Station, North Road, Finglas, Dublin 11

Dear Sir,

We refer to the above planning application and would like to outline
our concerns regarding same.

Whilst the residents have no objection in principle to the use of this
building as a crèche, we do have some concerns around the proposed
number of car parking spaces to be allotted as we feel that these are
inadequate for the number of children involved.

This is a cul de sac with the road entrance/exit directly beside the
proposed crèche. There is already a limited number of parking spaces
at this point because of the existence of double yellow lines on both
sides of the road, and what car spaces are provided, are constantly

Residents at this section of the North Road have always had problems
with parking as the road is the last free parking zone in close
proximity to Finglas Village and people constantly park here to do
their shopping and in some cases park here all day and travel by
public transport to the city for business or work.

The recent reopening of the garage at this end of the road has also
increased traffic at this section.

A review of planning applications for the road over the past few years
will show that the residents have always had problems with parking
around this particular spot.

We are very concerned that this section of the road will now become a
bottleneck at busy periods with residents trying to get off the road
to go to work and motorists double parking outside the crèche in order
to drop their children off.

We trust that our concerns will be taken into consideration when this
planning application is being considered.

Yours sincerely

Mary Dunne
